Mind, body, and consciousness; philosophical inquiries into consciousness, cognitive neuroscience of its neural correlates, phenomenological and existential analyses, cultural/anthropological studies of embodied practice, medical considerations, and artistic expressions. All articles are freely and permanently available to readers worldwide immediately upon publication, with no subscription fees or paywalls. Publication costs are covered by a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) paid by authors or their institutions.

All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY 4.0) licence, which allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
Online Only
JHHWB is an online-only publication. There is no print edition. Articles are published in HTML and PDF formats and assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).
Double-Blind Peer Review
All research articles undergo rigorous double-blind peer review, ensuring both reviewer and author anonymity. The editorial team aims to provide a first decision within 4–6 weeks of submission.
