Cookie Policy
Effective date: 1 May 2026 | Last reviewed: April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies the Journal of Holistic Health and Well-Being (JHHWB) portal uses, why we use them, and your choices. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies allow the website to remember information about your visit, such as whether you are signed in.
Cookies We Use
This portal uses only strictly necessary cookies. We do not set advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies. The table below describes every cookie the Portal may set.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
jhhwb_session | Authenticated session token. Set when you log in. Allows the Portal to recognise you across page requests without requiring you to sign in on every page. | 30 days (sliding — refreshed when less than 15 days remain) | Strictly necessary |
flash | One-time flash notification messages (e.g. "Submission received"). Consumed and deleted after the next page load. | 60 seconds | Strictly necessary |
Third-Party Cookies
The Portal itself does not set third-party cookies. However, the following third-party integrations may set cookies in some contexts:
- Razorpay / Stripe (payment) — if you proceed to pay an APC, you will be redirected to or interact with the payment provider's interface, which may set its own session and security cookies. These are governed by the payment provider's own cookie and privacy policies.
- ORCID OAuth — if you authenticate via ORCID, ORCID's servers may set cookies as part of their authentication flow. These are governed by ORCID's Privacy Policy.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
All cookies listed above are strictly necessary for the Portal to function. They enable core features such as authenticated access to submission and review workflows. Because they are strictly necessary, they do not require your consent under applicable e-privacy law; however, you can still block them in your browser settings (see below).
No Analytics or Advertising Cookies
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar third-party analytics or advertising tracking technology on the Portal. Server-side access logs (which are not cookies) are retained by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, as described in our Privacy Policy.
How to Control Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using submission and review features. Instructions for common browsers:
Changes to This Policy
We will update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies. The "Effective date" above will always reflect the current version. We will notify you of material changes via a notice on the Portal.
