Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Journal of Holistic Health and Well-Being (JHHWB) portal at jhhwb.org (the "Portal"), operated by the Baba Kinaram Research Foundation ("BKRF", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Portal you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Portal.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Portal. By using the Portal you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@jhhwb.org if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering and to keep it up to date. Impersonation of another researcher or institution is prohibited.

3. Permitted Use

The Portal may be used solely for lawful academic purposes including:

  • Submitting original research manuscripts for peer review.
  • Conducting peer review of assigned manuscripts as a registered reviewer.
  • Reading published open-access articles.
  • Downloading author templates and checklists.
  • Managing your editorial or author profile.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Submit manuscripts that are not original work, are plagiarised, or are simultaneously submitted to another journal (duplicate submission).
  • Provide false or misleading information about authorship, funding, ethics approvals, conflicts of interest, or any other declaration.
  • Attempt to influence the peer-review process through bribery, coercion, or fraudulent reviewer suggestion.
  • Disclose confidential review content, including manuscripts under review, reviewer identities, or editorial correspondence, to any third party.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract content from the Portal by automated means without our written consent.
  • Introduce malware, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise interfere with the security or performance of the Portal.
  • Use the Portal to send unsolicited commercial communications.
  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or code of research ethics.

5. Manuscript Submission and Copyright

By submitting a manuscript you warrant that: (a) you are the corresponding author authorised to submit on behalf of all co-authors; (b) the work is original and has not been published elsewhere; (c) all co-authors have approved the submission; (d) all necessary ethical approvals and consents have been obtained; and (e) you have the right to grant us the licences described below.

If accepted, JHHWB publishes under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. You retain copyright in your work. By accepting publication you grant BKRF a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the article in perpetuity.

6. Peer Review Participation

Peer review is conducted confidentially. Reviewers must declare any conflict of interest before accepting an invitation. Reviewers must not retain or use manuscript content beyond what is necessary for the review. Review feedback must be constructive, respectful, and objective. Violation of these standards may result in removal from the reviewer pool.

7. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

APCs become payable upon acceptance of a manuscript. Invoices are issued in Indian Rupees (INR) and US Dollars (USD). Payment must be settled within 30 days of invoice issuance to proceed to production. APC waiver requests must be submitted before acceptance and are granted at the sole discretion of the editorial office.

Payments are processed by a third-party provider (Razorpay or Stripe). BKRF is not responsible for errors introduced by the payment provider. APCs are non-refundable once the final typeset PDF has been released to authors for proof review, except in cases of documented error by BKRF.

8. Intellectual Property

All Portal software, design, branding, and editorial content (except published articles which are CC BY 4.0) are owned by BKRF or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of Portal materials without our prior written consent.

9. Disclaimers

The Portal and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Published articles represent the views of the authors and not necessarily those of BKRF or its editors. BKRF does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content on the Portal.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BKRF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Portal. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or INR 10,000, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BKRF and its editors, officers, and employees from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the Portal, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Portal at any time for breach of these Terms, for conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the integrity of the scientific record, or for legal or regulatory reasons. You may delete your account at any time via the Dashboard or by contacting us.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [City — to be confirmed by legal team], India.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms periodically. We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes by posting a notice on the Portal and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
